l'Esprit et la Matière - Independent documentary film production using critical thinking and cognitive science
Élisabeth Feytit, born in Paris, France, runs l'Esprit & la Matière. Thanks to her first production company, La Marée Monte, created in 2001, she produced and co-produced documentary, short narrative and corporate films that were shown and awarded in festivals around the world. She collaborated with TV channels such as France 2, Ciné+, RFO, TV5, Histoire, Odyssée, KTO and Cityzen TV, for films that mainly dealt with art and history.
She now produces documentary films with a focus on a rational and curious exploration of the way the mind works.
Élisabeth first studied Business and Administration at the MBA Institute in Paris. After a few years working in sales and strategy, in particular in the music and video industry, she embraced a new career in filmmaking. She specialized in film editing at INA (Institut National de l’Audiovisuel) and in documentary filmmaking at La Fémis, in Paris. She gained experience as an assistant for several directors, among whom Raymond Depardon and Bruno Aveillan.
For twelve years, while working as an Editor and a Producer, she was a technical advisor and instructor for France 24, France 2, France Ô, M6, LCI, and Public Sénat TV channels.
In 2019, she launched a podcast show on metacognition (thinking about our thinking): Méta de Choc.
